Stage 03 · Feel what's real Lesson 2 of 3

Feel it to heal it

Name what happened, feel it, and let it move through you.

Read it instead

Lesson two. Feel it to heal it. Name what happened, feel it, and let it move through you. Healing means letting a hard experience be felt, understood and accepted, until it stops running your choices. The step most of us skip is the feeling. A feeling felt fully moves like a wave: it rises, peaks and passes. A feeling held back stays stuck. Letting it move isn't weakness. It's the doorway out. Why it matters. What moves through you becomes understanding, a kind of wisdom general knowledge can't match. It's the raw material of an authentic voice. For example. Letting yourself grieve a business that closed, instead of saying "it's fine" for two years. Or: Admitting you were angry about being passed over, and feeling it, so it stops leaking into meetings. Where this leads. It turns what you saw in the last lesson from a memory into something you've moved through. Hold on to this. Feeling it fully is not weakness. It's the doorway out.

A line from RumiClose
This being human is a guest house. Every morning a new arrival.
Rumi, tr. Coleman Barks

In plain words

Every feeling that visits you is a guest. Welcome each one, even the hard ones. Each has something to show you.

For this lesson

Feeling it to heal it means opening the door to the guest you've kept waiting outside.
